Biography:

My name is Michelle Rapp. I have been a teacher at Charles Pinckney Elementary for eight years. I taught third grade for 7 years therefore this is my first year teaching fourth grade. I am thrilled to be in fourth grade and truly love teaching my favorite subjects, math and science. Plus, I have all of my kids from last year, so that is a major bonus.

Classroom Reflection:

I have enjoyed learning about digital movie maker and the elements that come with it. I feel that this type of teaching strategy will engage my students on so many levels. It will allow them to be creative, to interact with their learning, and to explore all elements of research and technology. It will also allow all students to participate regardless of their needs or accommodations. It seems to be a teaching/learning tool that can be easily modified.

Within my classroom, I plan to use movie maker in science. The students will research elements of severe weather. They will create a project that defines severe weather, identifies the causes and effects of severer weather, and tells what precautions one should take during severe weather. In addition, the students will create a haiku poem utilizing voice narration that will demonstrate the students' understanding of weather.
